Anna Woomer

Anna Woomer is a 2022 graduate from the University of Pittsburgh majoring in Political Science, with a field focus in International Relations. During her time in college, she worked on local campaigns for clean water and as a political canvasser. For her senior project, she researched and developed a unique conflict management plan to mitigate ongoing violence in the Syrian civil war.

When not in class, you could find her working as an editor and host of the University of Pittsburgh’s ACLU Podcast and participating in the Amnesty International club. During a couple of her summer breaks, Anna worked as a counselor to kids of all ages at Pine Springs Camp where she expanded and deepened her empathy for those in difficult circumstances.

As a lifelong Pittsburgher, she loves watching the Steelers, poking around local record shops, and going to the museums. In her free time, she loves hanging out with her big family, traveling, and hiking with friends.

Charity Nominations

2022: Anna’s Chaffin Luhana Foundation charity donation was to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank this year. Having filling meals with family is one of the most meaningful times for Anna, and she wants all families to have the opportunity to have those times without income concerns.
