About Jessica Szumla
Jessica has been with Chaffin Luhana since 2015 and currently serves as the firm’s lead paralegal on Bard Hernia Mesh, Pressure Cookers, Baby Formula/NEC, JUUL, Hip Implants, and Pradaxa litigations. She has worked on Bellwether Trial cases in the Testosterone Replacement Therapy, Pradaxa, and Paraquat litigations. Additionally, she has assisted with numerous depositions taken by leadership in the Zantac, Paraquat, and Rideshare litigations. Jessica truly enjoys working with the firm’s clients from case investigation through case resolution. Jessica received her bachelor’s degree from Wesley College in Dover, DE, and started her career in the legal field as an intake coordinator at a plaintiff’s firm, where she had a hand in various personal injury, workers’ compensation, and Social Security disability cases.
Before joining Chaffin Luhana, Jessica worked as a paralegal in a Baltimore law firm, handling toxic tort and asbestos claims. Outside of the legal field, Jessica previously worked with patients in an eating disorders program and volunteered as a Hotline Responder with RAINN and healingSPACE in Bergen County, New Jersey. Jessica enjoys her morning coffee, spending time with her husband and three kids, and traveling to visit family in the U.S. and Kosovo.
