About Chaffin Luhana

We are a personal injury law firm but not the typical firm you may have seen on television.  We believe in value-based advocacy.  Our motto is Doing Good by Doing Right.  Everyday.  In Everything We Do.  We have established ourselves as a go-to national and regional law firm.  We have grown tremendously and continue to grow.

We represent only plaintiffs and never defendants.  We have a non-profit foundation that supports our communities and causes, and philanthropy is an integral part of who we are as a firm.

Unlike many law firms, we do our own business development, marketing and client screening in-house.  So, while we are a law firm and a very compassionate one with strong core values, we do a lot of what most people would consider “business” types of work such as setting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for our team, and meeting monthly, 90 day and annual goals—this is all part of our drive to excel and our growth mindset.

In short, we are a different kind of personal injury law firm in so many ways—in fact almost all the ways!  Our causes are our clients, and we passionately represent them!

We’re all about working hard, and staying humble and compassionate.  In the spirit of humble-bragging, here are some takeaways:

  • Former state and federal prosecutors
  • Former state and federal law clerks to judges
  • Court-appointed leaders to some of the most important national product liability cases
  • Over 85 years of combined legal experience
  • Attorneys have recovered over $1 billion for plaintiffs in their careers
  • Ranks include SuperLawyers and Multi-million Dollar advocates
  • Social Worker on staff to assist clients
  • Expanded reach with 3 offices in different states—ranging from NYC to a small town in WV—reflecting our drive but also our caring side
  • Cases and attorneys regularly featured in the press including on ABC World News, Good Morning America and in many other news outlets!
  • Publish Living Safer and Legal Examiner
  • Have our own foundation that does a lot of good, by doing right—the Chaffin Luhana Foundation!

If you’re looking for a job that’s boring and easy, you won’t find that here.  We put our all into everything we do.  Greatness is achieved through hard work, discipline, and sacrifice, and we’re determined to be great.

We’re not crazy; we just believe in our causes, our clients and what we do!

If you’d like to be part of a nationally recognized, collaborative and compassionate team, then we can’t wait to hear from you.

Client Development Representative

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Are you looking for a career that supports a cause you believe in, and you want to be rewarded for your passion and the energy you put into that cause?  Do you enjoy interacting compassionately with the public and figuring out how to help people who are facing some of their most difficult moments in life?  Do you embrace technology and are eager to learn more—perhaps enjoy new apps on your phone or new ways to stay in contact with family and friends?  Do you enjoy talking on the phone, and exchanging encouraging messages with others?  Do you enjoy a high-energy and multi-tasking environment of a growing law firm, and want to be part of something that is and feels bigger than just you?  If so, then you might be a great right fit for our Client Development Representative position in our Pittsburgh Office!

As a Client Development Representative at Chaffin Luhana LLP, what will you do?  You will help injured people choose us—a go-to firm in the national plaintiffs’ bar—to recover for them the compensation they deserve!  You will act compassionately but will be trained to our standards and exercise graceful and confident judgment in helping them get set up as a new client with our firm (no sleazy tactics here)!  You will be a greeter and leader for them in their darkest hours of need.  Each day you will see accomplishments for your efforts!

We are looking for compassionate team players—people who thrive on autonomy, are impeccably organized, and who want to win for our clients!

This is an ideal position for someone who is compassionate, who loves connecting with people, enjoys a “consultative” style “sales” conversation and is looking to advance quickly (with a clear path outlined for growth, leadership, and autonomy within the first year).

But, know that advancement comes with setbacks, so if you’re not receptive to constructive criticism or you’re not resilient and get discouraged easily in the face of failure, you’re probably not the right fit for this role.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Receive calls, call, email and text inbound prospects until your eyes and ears tingle. (By the way, NO COLD CALLING)
  • Not afraid to speak with live human beings and are genuinely caring toward others. In fact, you love taking punches and nothing can bring you down (Yo, Adrian!) because you are the rock for the person calling who is having a really bad time – caring but confident how someone has been toward you when you lost a loved one or were injured yourself.
  • They reached out to us first — again, no cold calling (this isn’t 1980 and we’re not selling fax machines)—so reaching them back to help even though they may be scared of legal help as they have never been through it!
  • Detail-oriented and organized (aka, you’ve got your $#@* together). You’re the type that has planners FOR your planners.
  • Be able to follow a process and put your TRUST in the process. This is a virtual trust fall if you will. Every day… but we’ll always catch you!
  • Highly energetic self-starter who enjoys convincing people and selling our law firm’s services and the thrill of the “hunt” who has the drive to succeed (If you don’t like hunting, think of it like laser tag, or hide & go seek…much more humane)
  • Coach-able, Flexible, Accountable (Team members at Chaffin Luhana trust and depend on their colleagues—we need to know you’re here to play ball and all-in)
  • High Energy Level (you don’t need to drink energy drinks, but we do need team members who are pumped and ready to go!)
  • Growth mindset (everyone on our team is present, engaged, never complacent and eager to grow individually and as a team—the only way we know is up!)

Travel:

  • This position does not require any travel

Perks:

A few benefits you’re sure to enjoy:

  • Health and dental insurance—we cover most if not all of the premiums (for typical team member) and we kick in up to $750 for your HSA
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) for pure fun and recharging, 9 yearly holidays paid, separate sick/bereavement days for those unfortunate times you need it
  • We strive to close the entire firm between Christmas & New Year’s every year so the entire team can recharge their batteries and start the year fresh!
  • 401(k) with very attractive firm matching (a/k/a, free money—we care about our team long term!)
  • Bonusly awards—peer-to-peer recognition app—think Facebook for the team with cool gifts and rewards funded by the firm!
  • Kolbe and other personal growth assessments to grow individually and as a team!
  • Time management luncheons with the senior management team—take your organization to the next level at home and at the office!
  • Outside training dollars to gain new skills!
  • Strong company culture with cool rewards including monthly office lunches, a summer outing and spectacular holiday dinner with scenic Pittsburgh views!
  • Team members get to nominate their own charities each year to support during the holidays between Thanksgiving and Christmas—putting their own stamp on Doing Good by Doing Right!

Our requirements are pretty straightforward. To qualify you must:

  • Exhibit an infectious whatever-it-takes solutions-focused attitude
  • Be able to embrace challenges and handle feedback calmly and effectively even in high-stress situations
  • Be competitive, resilient, smart, and compassionate (be a great listener)
  • Have a fast-paced work ethic that allows you to meet tight deadlines
  • Handle technology with grace
  • Want to learn about the team, what we stand for and communicate that to new clients!
  • Take a team-centric approach (we’re better together)
  • Be humble and consistent
  • Be compassionate and caring!
