Team Spotlight – Staci Aria

Staci AriaHow long have you been with Chaffin Luhana and what is your role here at the firm?

As the First Contact Manager, I oversee the Intake Department which acts as the first point of contact our clients have with the firm. Our first priorities are to determine the best way to help our clients, answer any questions they may have and walk them through the initial process of starting their claim. It can be a very overwhelming time for our clients so it’s especially important to me that we have the “best of the best” on the other end of the phone when someone needs our help. I am very proud of our team.

I also work very closely with our co-counsel law firms, both nationally and regionally, in various practice areas. So, if for some reason we cannot help a client, we have a great network of people that we trust who can.

And I’ve been with the firm for over 6 years now.

What is your favorite thing about working at Chaffin Luhana?

I would definitely say it’s the impact we make – for our clients, as well as the community. I think everyone wants to have a career where, at the end of the day, they can say “I really made a difference.” At Chaffin Luhana, we truly do make a difference, helping our clients to heal, helping them tell their story – with the goal of trying to make them whole again- physically, financially, and emotionally. In some cases, such as dangerous drugs and medical devices, we can also potentially prevent someone else from harm by forcing manufacturers to be accountable.

I also love the work our firm does in the community. From our annual Thanksgiving Turkey Drive, or other efforts, like the 10K Sandwiches drive – they’re great events that go a long way towards assisting others in need. I’ve really enjoyed participating in those events and look forward to them every year.

How do your talents best fit your role here at the firm?

I’m a naturally compassionate person, and one of my key talents is my being able to empathize with others. In my previous role, I was a 911 dispatcher. Over the course of 10 years, I spoke with tens of thousands of people who were going through what was probably one of the worst days of their lives. To be able to help others…to put myself in their shoes and figure out the best way to help them, showing compassion and kindness in a very stressful situation… there’s nothing more rewarding.

Tell us what you like to do in your spare time.

At the moment, Friday night High School football games watching my daughters play in the marching band. I am very proud of them. I have a huge vegetable garden, I raise chickens – and know all their names, too. I just love being outdoors. My husband and I love to bike, and we’ve put hundreds of miles on our bikes as we’ve peddled throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

Tell us something that might come as a surprise to others when meeting you.

Over a two-year period, I completed a certification in Extreme Self Defense, taught by a Grandmaster of Martial Arts. I ultimately ended up teaching self-defense classes to women in my community. It was very empowering, fun, and rewarding!

Lastly, what’s one thing you would you want prospects to know that they might not get from our website or commercials?

That we really have an amazing team here. As we’ve grown as a firm over the years, we’ve worked hard to assemble the right team. Everyone has the same goals in mind – to put the client first, to guide and support them, to communicate often, and with empathy and compassion. We want our clients’ experience with us to be unlike that of any other law firm. And I couldn’t be prouder of who we are as a firm, and what we deliver to our clients each and every day.
