In the courts:

We continue to be very busy, even as most courts remain on a limited calendar due to the pandemic. We continue to be on the forefront of both the national Zantac/ranitidine Litigation (the federal MDL continues to progress), as well as the national Paraquat Litigation which was recently centralized in Illinois. (Paraquat is an herbicide that has been allegedly linked to Parkinson’s Disease.)

In the community:
2021 Turkey Giveaway: Our firm is committed to Doing Good By Doing Right™ and giving back to the communities we serve. In this spirit, the Chaffin Luhana Foundation is excited to announce its 3rd Annual Turkey Giveaway this Thanksgiving! More details will be announced soon.

Scholarship Winner: The Chaffin Luhana Foundation recently awarded its 2021 Anti-Distracted Driving Scholarship, an annual award given to a student helping in the fight against distracted driving. This year’s recipient is University of Pittsburgh student, Anna Sedlak.

2021 Montour Trail Ride: Chaffin Luhana was a proud sponsor of the 19th Annual “Tour the Montour” Trail Ride, an annual event to raise funds to support the nation’s longest rail-trail. The day-long event took place on September 25th and bicyclists rode a variety of trails and distances – up to 62 miles. If you didn’t have a chance to attend, don’t worry – you can access the trail anytime! Learn more at https://montourtrail.org/.

Article: Gaps in Treatment

After being injured in an accident, your doctor may want you to go for additional testing, come back for follow-ups and even see other doctors. You may be tempted to cancel your doctor’s appointment or skip your treatment sessions because you are starting to feel better. Or, you may have trouble making appointments because of work or family commitments. Missing appointments can quickly lead to “gaps” in treatment.

To learn why these gaps can be very detrimental to your case, click here.

Team Member Spotlight: Staci Aria

For this issue’s Team Member Spotlight, we sit down with our First Contact Manager, Staci Aria, who details her role here at the firmand a lot more.

Staci and her team are often the first voices clients hear when reaching out to the firm, and we’re so proud of the work they do.
