News: 1 killed in collision on PA Turnpike near Gibsonia

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — One person died early Tuesday after a crash that injured another on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Gibsonia, according to WPXI.

The fatal accident happened on the westbound lanes near mile marker 37.9, just past Gibson Road. It was first reported at around 12:20 a.m.

Officials have not shared details on the circumstances behind the wreck, but one person was killed.

Another person was transported to an area hospital where their condition remains undisclosed.

A section of the westbound interstate between the Butler Valley and Cranberry interchanges were closed during the emergency response. Shortly after 5:00 a.m., the scene had been cleared and all lanes were reopened to traffic.
