News: 18 injured in series of crashes on I-76 near Beaver Falls

BEAVER COUNTY, PA — Eighteen people were hurt Friday morning in three separate crashes on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Beaver Falls, according to WPXI.

The series of wrecks occurred on the westbound lanes (I-76) at milepost 14.2, near Exit 13 to Big Beaver Boulevard. Dispatchers received the call shortly before 10:00 a.m.

Few details have been shared, but police said one of the crashes involved a box truck.

At this time, Pennsylvania State Police said injuries to the eighteen victims do not appear to be serious. It was unclear how many of those patients had to be taken to a hospital.

Part of the turnpike was closed in both directions as first responders worked to clear the scene.
