News: 2 hospitalized after crash on US-219 in Indiana County

INDIANA COUNTY, PA — Two people were injured Sunday, July 2, due to a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. Route 219 near Cherry Tree, according to CBS News Pittsburgh.

The collision took place on a span of US-219 (South Main Street) at  PA Route 580 (Cherry Street).  Officials did not confirm the exact time, but the incident was first reported by CBS News at 7:52 a.m.

Pennsylvania State Police said one vehicle pulled into the path of an oncoming car, causing the vehicles to collide.

Two passengers in the oncoming car suffered unspecified injuries and both were transported to an area hospital.

It was not immediately clear what caused the accident. No pending charges have been disclosed to the public.
