News: 2 sent to hospital after SUV, semi collide on PA-837 in Duquesne

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — Two people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash late Wednesday morning on Route 837 in Duquesne, according to WPXI.

Allegheny County Police said the accident occurred on a span of the road (Duquesne Boulevard) at Grant Avenue, at around 11:51 a.m.

The circumstances of the wreck were unclear, but a semi-truck and an SUV were involved.

First responders had to extricate one person who was trapped in the SUV. That person and another occupant in the same vehicle were transported to local hospitals. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed, but both patients were listed in stable condition.

Authorities said the driver of the semi, who was not hurt in the crash, stayed at the scene.

Homicide detectives and collision reconstruction officers were called to the site to perform a preliminary investigation.

At this time, no charges have been reported.
