News: 2 teens killed as car hits tree in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY, PA — Two teenagers died late Saturday, March 11, after a single-vehicle accident in South Strabane Township, according to WPXI.

The fatal wreck occurred in the area of 3025 East Maiden Street, off U.S. Route 40, at about 11:18 p.m.

Officials with the South Strabane Fire Department said the driver, a 17-year-old boy, lost control of the vehicle before it collided with a tree.

Both the driver and his passenger, a 17-year-old girl, were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Washington County Office of the Coroner.

It was unclear whether the teens were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. An investigation remains ongoing.
