News: Driver cited after Tesla crashes into construction vehicle in Oakmont

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — A driver was cited last Friday night, June 23, after his Tesla struck the back of a construction vehicle in Oakmont Borough, reports WPXI.

Pennsylvania State Police said the incident occurred on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 76, shortly before 10:30 p.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates a 2016 Tesla was traveling in the center lane when it collided with a work vehicle that had been stationed on the roadway to facilitate traffic control for the closure of a right lane ahead.

No one was reported injured in the crash, but authorities said the driver, whose Tesla was determined to have been on Autopilot at the time of the wreck, received a citation for careless driving.
