News: Hit-and-run driver sought after crash on US-422 in Lawrence County

LAWRENCE COUNTY, PA — Pennsylvania State Police were called to the scene of a wrong-way wreck early Thursday on U.S. 422 in Union Township, according to CBS Pittsburgh.

The collision occurred on a span of US-422 near the intersection with Interstate 376, in the New Castle area. Troopers responded to the site shortly after 3:30 a.m.

Details remain limited, but officials said a pickup truck and a passenger vehicle were involved. One of the vehicles had been traveling in the wrong direction prior to the crash.

The driver of the passenger vehicle fled the scene on foot, leaving behind a silver car with moderate damage near its driver’s side door.

The driver of the pickup stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

No injuries have been reported, and no further details have been shared at this time.

An investigation and search for the fleeing driver was underway.
