News: Jackknifed big-rig closes part of I-79 NB in Portersville

BUTLER COUNTY, PA — A tractor-trailer jackknifed Wednesday morning, closing a section of northbound Interstate 79 in Portersville, according to WTAE.

The accident impacted the northbound lanes from Exit 96 (Pennsylvania Route 488 – Portersville) to Exit 99 (U.S. Highway 422 – New Castle/Butler).

Little information has been provided at this time, but the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation projected a clearance time of 1:o0 p.m., which is subject to change based on scene conditions. Motorists were advised to find alternate routes.
