News: Man arrested after stolen vehicle hits Pittsburgh police cruiser in Allentown

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — A man was taken into custody early Thursday after crashing a stolen vehicle into a Pittsburgh police cruiser while fleeing authorities, reports WPXI.

The incident occurred at 1206 Arlington Avenue, in front of Black Forge Coffeehouse I, in Pittsburgh’s Allentown neighborhood. It was first reported at about 3:15 a.m.

According to Public Safety officials, Brentwood police officers were pursuing the stolen vehicle. At one point, the fleeing driver crashed the car into un unoccupied Pittsburgh police vehicle. No Pittsburgh police officers were involved in the initial chase or injured in the crash.

The male driver, who was arrested by Brentwood Police, was also transported to a local hospital for reported ankle pain.

No other information has been released as of this writing.
