News: Man dies after pedestrian crash on Pittsburgh’s Birmingham Bridge

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — A man died Wednesday evening after being hit by a vehicle on the Birmingham Bridge in Pittsburgh, reports WPXI.

Multiple local agencies, including police, fire crews and medics, responded to the scene shortly before 7:30 p.m.

It was unclear what led up to the incident, but first responders arrived to find the victim on the roadway. The patient, who suffered critical injuries, was rushed to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials, the involved driver stayed after the crash and cooperated with authorities.

No other information has been disclosed, but Pittsburgh Police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal event.
