News: Man dies after SUV, van collide head-on in North Versailles

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — A 65-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on East Pittsburgh McKeesport Boulevard in North Versailles, reports WTAE.

Allegheny County officials said the accident occurred near the intersection with Braddock Avenue.

According to a preliminary investigation, a 19-year-old man was driving an SUV westbound when the vehicle veered over the median and into the path of an eastbound passenger van driven by the victim. Moments later, the vehicles collided head-on.

First responders transported the victim to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Officials said he was the van’s sole occupant.

The driver of the SUV and his passenger, a 16-year-old girl, were both taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

At this time, authorities have not reported any pending charges as an investigation remains in progress. Anyone with information, anonymous or otherwise, is urged to reach county police at 833-ALL-TIPS.
