News: Motorcyclist dies after crash on Saw Mill Run Blvd in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA — One person died Monday night after a two-vehicle accident near Pittsburgh’s Carrick neighborhood, reports CBS Pittsburgh.

The fatal collision occurred on Saw Mill Run Boulevard (Route 51) between Englert Street and Midwood Avenue. Pittsburgh Public Safety crews responded to the scene at about 7:30 p.m.

It was unclear what led up to the wreck, but officials said a motorcycle and another vehicle were involved.

First responders arrived to find the motorcycle rider unconscious and not breathing. The patient was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition but later died as a result of his injuries.

The other driver, who was not reported hurt, stayed at the scene after the crash and cooperated with officials.

At this time, no pending charges or citations have been reported.

An investigation remains ongoing.
