News: Motorcyclist dies after crash with vehicle on PA-88 in Union Township

WASHINGTON COUNTY, PA — A 54-year-old man died Sunday evening after his motorcycle struck another vehicle on Route 88 in Union Township, reports WPXI.

The fatal accident happened near the intersection with Patterson Road, in the Finleyville borough, at about 6:40 p.m.

It was unclear what caused the wreck, but authorities said the motorcycle veered past the center lane and into the opposing lane. It then hit an oncoming vehicle.

The rider, a Carroll Township resident, died as a result of his injuries, confirmed officials. A report by the Washington County coroner noted he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
