News: Motorcyclist dies after hit-and-run crash near Plum Township business

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — A 66-year-old Pittsburgh man died Sunday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle while riding a motorcycle in Plum Township, according to WPXI.

The fatal incident occurred on Unity Trestle Road, outside of Franco’s Pizza. Allegheny County dispatchers received a call at around 3:50 p.m.

While the circumstances of the event remain unclear, police and emergency responders arrived to find the rider critically injured. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The other driver fled the scene after the crash, but officials located the striking vehicle’s front bumper on the ground near the motorcycle.

Investigators were later able to locate the suspect vehicle, a white Lincoln sedan, but its driver was nowhere to be found.

An investigation and search for the hit-and-run suspect remains ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact Allegheny County Police at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.
