News: Multi-vehicle wreck reported on PA-28 at I-579 in East Allegheny

PITTSBURGH, PA — Authorities responded to a multi-vehicle crash Monday morning on Route 28 in Pittsburgh’s East Allegheny neighborhood, according to 511PA Pittsburgh.

The accident happened on the southbound lanes at the Exit to I-579 southbound, before Veterans Bridge/Fort Pitt Bridge. It was first recorded by 511PA at 6:53 a.m.

Local agencies have not provided details regarding the cause of the wreck, but a lane restriction was in place for over 40 minutes.

By 7:37 a.m., crews had cleared out of the roadway and all lanes were reported reopened.

It was unclear whether anyone was hurt or had to be taken to a hospital.
