News: Woman hit, critically hurt by vehicle at Squirrel Hill intersection

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — A woman hospitalized Thursday afternoon after being hit by a car in east Pittsburg’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood, reports WPXI.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Wilkins Avenue and Beechwood Boulevard. Allegheny County dispatchers received the call at about 3:05 p.m.

It was unclear what caused the crash, but first responders found the victim suffering from several injuries. She was rushed to a hospital where she was listed in critical condition.

The intersection was closed during the response and initial investigation.

No details on the driver have been shared, but a red car was seen stopped nearby.

By 5:40 p.m., the scene was cleared with all lanes reopened to the public.
