News: Woman killed, 2 others injured as vehicle hits utility pole in McKeesport

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — A 49-year-old woman died Wednesday evening after a collision that left two others injured in northeast McKeesport, according to WPXI.

The fatal wreck happened in the 2100 block of East 5th Avenue, or Pennsylvania Route 148. Local police, firefighters, and EMS personnel were called to the area at 6:15 p.m.

Authorities have not shared the events leading up to the crash, but the victim died from their injuries at the scene. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner has since identified her as Joanie McCalla.

Two other people in the vehicle were transported to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries. It remains unclear whether the woman killed was the driver or a passenger.

An investigation remains ongoing.
