News: Woman killed after train crashes into vehicle in Westmoreland Co.

SUTERSVILLE, PA – A woman was killed crossing railroad tracks in Westmoreland County Wednesday morning, reports WPXI.

76-year-old Mary Ann Keegan was driving a van near the 4th Street railroad crossing in the center of Sutersville. A westbound train had just cleared the intersection when she proceeded to cross the tracks. An oncoming eastbound train then struck her vehicle.

Keegan was pronounced dead at the scene.

Not every railroad crossing in Sutersville has lights and arms. Local would like to see more safety equipment installed at each intersection.
