News: Woman seriously injured in single-vehicle crash on Route 8

BUTLER TOWNSHIP, PA – A woman was flown to the hospital after a major single-vehicle crash in Butler Township this morning.

According to the Butler Eagle, the woman was traveling north on Route 8 near the intersection with Bean Street when her Kia sedan slammed into a utility pole. The force of the impact mangled the car, causing the engine to be dislodged, landing in the parking lot of a nearby Days Inn.

The woman, whose identity is unclear at this time, was ejected from the Kia. She was airlifted to Allegheny General Hospital to be treated for unspecified injuries.

It is unclear at this time what caused the woman to lose control of her vehicle.
