News: Wrong-way driver to be charged in fatal hit-and-run on I-70

WASHINGTON, PA – A woman was killed when her car was struck by a wrong-way driver on I-70 in Washington Thursday morning.

The crash happened just before 2:30 a.m. on eastbound I-70 near Jefferson Avenue, reports WPXI.

Joscelyn Vith, 32, was driving a sedan on the interstate when a driver in a pickup crashed head-on with her. The pickup’s driver was traveling the wrong way on the interstate and initially fled the scene.

Vith was rushed to an area hospital with serious injuries but ultimately died.

Leandre Woods, the owner of the pickup truck, arrived at Washington County police barracks hours after the crash.

Woods is currently in the hospital but will be arrested and charged once he is released.
